Russell Collection of engineering ephemera
Scope and Contents
The Russell collection includes brochures, pamphlets, and manuals related to various industrial companies that produced valves, bearings, fittings, and more in the mid- to late-twentieth century. Additional materials include information about steam turbines and heat exchangers. Materials were collected by Fred Russell, an industrial worker, through his career.

Arrangement
Donor created an inventory sheet with materials in alphabetical order by company. Materials are arranged in line with donor's inventory.
Materials were arranged into two series. Series 1 are consumer products including catalogs, pamphlets, and brochures. Series 2 includes trade products, including articles from conferences and publication, manuals, and research.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Materials were donated by Mary Russell, wife of Fred Russell, who collected the materials throughout his career working as a mechanical engineer in various industries including pulp and paper, power plant, steam generation, cogeneration plant, and oil and gas. Materials were donated in two batches, both arriving in September 2019.
